has anyone gotten the current version of the Chase app to work with the current version of Magisk? Specifically, the Zelle send/request feature. Always detects root even with Magisk hide and renaming manager, and deleting all folder names containing Magisk, etc.

Has anyone got it working? If so, what steps exactly must be taken. Please dont turn this into a general banking app thread, which gets very confusing and non-helpful. Just the current Chase app.

Thx

Yes, I have the same issue with the latest version of the Chase mobile app on Android 10 with Magisk 20.4. Have switched all spending over to Amex until this failure is resolved.

Resolved using the Island app, which is available on Play Store

Here's how

1 Uninstall Chase
2 Hide Magisk package name in the app & reboot
3 Install Chase app, don't run it
4 Hide Chase in MagiskHide & reboot
5 Run Chase app and cross fingers

Having the same issue as well, I even tried within Samsung's secure folder which is supposed to create a new environment but it's still detected, repackaging magisk didn't work either unfortunately

I'm having the same issue! On Magisk 20.4 with repackaged and renamed manager. Added both chase processes in Magisk Hide, and did a full system search using:

find / -name "*magisk*" 2>/dev/null

and found nothing outside /sbin. Still no luck after doing all of the above, clearing app data, then logging back in. For me, the primary issue is not being able to access "Ultimate Rewards". Interestingly, I was just able to send $1 through Zelle on the same device, contrary to OP.

Edit: The Island app is also not able to solve the issue, which further supports what @ChainfiresSon stated above.

Did you end up finding a solution for this?

The app was working fine up until the recent June update for me. Would really like to get it working again.

1. Island does not work
2. Uninstalling Chase, Hiding Magisk, Installing Chase, Hiding from Magisk, running Chase does not work either

I've been having the same issue since Google started enforcing hardware attestation. Magisk no longer passes CTSProfile test on my Pixel 4 as well. So far this is the only app I have that has started having root issues with.

Unfortunately, there are many ways to detect root besides Magisk.

I have no issue with the Chase app on a pixel 3xl, and without decompiling and analyzing the app there can be many reasons why it detects root (modules, Xposed framework, etc).

I am on Android Q with July security patch and use Magisk and Magisk Hide with many modules (Viper4Android, edge sense plus, etc). Along with both Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

Hope you can resolve this.

Cheers,
B.D.

The app itself has no issues. Just with using the credit card bonus points or adding new contacts on Zelle. Do those work for you?

I have no issue getting my points from credit cards or using zelle.

Yeah, on mine, only when using certain aspects of the chase app will it complain. I just clicked on "explore ultimate rewards" and got the you're rooted message. Google Pay works fine (oneplus 7t) and I didn't even have to do a bunch of workarounds like I had to with the 6t. Haven't figured out how to get the chase app to work 100% though.

No idea. I haven't bothered since I can fire up the web to use my points

Fair enough. Still trying to figure out if anyone else has any update on this. I hate that it doesn't let me add zelle recipients sometimes/etc as well.

Update- seems like the new latest update has made it even harder to use since it detects root. Anyone have any ideas how it detects it?
